Patsy Cavazos began her career with HISD as a sixth grade Bilingual teacher at DeZavala ES. During her seven years at DeZavala, she also taught fourth and fifth grade Bilingual, was assigned as a Chapter I Computer teacher and later, was assigned as the Campus Teacher Technologist. While at DeZavala, Ms. Cavazos was accepted into the Bilingual Master's Program sponsored by HISD. She received her Mid-Management Certification and in 1986 was assigned as an Assistant Principal at Burbank ES. In 1987, Ms. Cavazos was assigned as the Principal of Love ES where she spent 13 years. For two years, as the District Director of the former North Central District, Ms. Cavazos had the opportunity and privilege of working with the Principals in the Reagan and Davis Vertical Teams. In 2003 through 2005, Ms. Cavazos worked and supported the 33 campuses which made up the Northwest District as District Director.
